solids

We started solids with Lennon at six months. We chose baby-led solids, which is where we give her soft stick shaped pieces of whatever we're eating, and she feeds herself. She's awesome at it (although it's a mess)! Sweet potato fries were her first food. She's had avocado, cucumber, broccoli (her favorite!), red pepper, zucchini, squash, carrot, parsnip, eggs, toast (another favorite), noodles, beans, oatmeal, apple, pear, banana, hummus, chicken, salmon and the list goes on. We are a food loving family, and it looks like Lennon didn't fall far from that tree.

Cooper is her loyal sidekick now that she's eating. He's always happy to clean up the after dinner mess.

Christmas Day

Christmas day for Lennon went something like this:

Opening presents with daddy-Sadie helped too!

Lots of playing in jammies after a big breakfast.

Hanging out with cousin Callie.

Uncle Kutter snapping lots of photos.

Had a long nap-exhaustion!

Kyla helped with the chocolate cream pies.

Memorial for Max.

We had a great time celebrating Jesus' birthday. I can only imagine how different next Christmas will be.

Pre-Christmas

We truly enjoyed our first Christmas with Lennon. She was spoiled by all of her grandparents and other family and friends. She would have been just as happy with empty boxes wrapped in paper (her favorite thing), but we are so thankful for all of the gifts she received.

Lennon's MiMi came out the week before Christmas to spend some time with us. Lennon has been experiencing some separation anxiety, but this quickly disappeared with MiMi, and they were the best of buds all week.

Thanks to my friend Laura for this great photo!

Christmas Eve we drove to the Springs to be with my family. Sadly, Max, our family dog of nearly sixteen years passed away on Christmas Eve. Max was definitely part of the family, and Christmas wasn't the same without him.
